Brian Boucher stops 28 shots to help Blackhawks beat Blue Jackets 1-0
Chicago forward Rene Bourque left the game late in the second period after being cut in the neck with by the Columbus right wing Nikolai Zherdev's skate blade during a pileup in the Blackhawks' crease. According to team officials, Bourque was in stable condition when he was taken to The University of Chicago Hospital.
"We know he's stable. He's OK and it's not life-threatening," Yawney said.
Colour me relieved.
Although I'm willing to bet that the teams (Columbus and Chicago) probably were not really thinking about the game after the incident...
Sure, they might be professionals and all that, but something like that happens... they were probably still shaky by the time the game ended, even though they were doing their best to hold it together.
