Was watching the Avalanche/Oilers game tonight.
Very late in the third period, the Avs were down 2-1 when Ryan Smyth went racing after the puck. John-Michael Liles stuck out his knee and tripped Smyth to the point where he essentially crash landed on the ice, one knee landing on the other, and the other knee hitting the ice really hard. When Smyth did get up, he was in considerable pain and left the game, hobbling down the hallway toward the locker room.
I know some folks don't like the Oilers, but right now... I am liking the Oilers a whole hell of a lot more than I like the Avalanche. With the exception of Raffi Torres. Who needs to be sent to either New Jersey (since he reminds me of Scott Stevens - tersa reminded me of that), or maybe... *thinks* Send him to Nashville. For Jean-Pierre Dumont.
Torres would fit in perfectly there, and the Oilers would get a classier player in Dumont.
I still like Sakic, Hejduk, and Laperriere... but aside from that...
